Artinavan// is an art collective of artists, writers, illustrators, photographers, musicians and designers, based in South London. Their group exhibitions explore a variety of subject matters and themes, expressing ideas through diverse media. For the
Brixton Project, the collective has converted an empty shop in the Brixton Village Market into a weekly rotation installation space for 8 weeks during January - March.
I caught up with some of the guys when I was at the market for the patchwork quilt workshop a few weeks ago, and the space was filled with hand-painted signs made by the sellers within the market, with the aim of bringing together more of a community feel and offering glimpses of individual characters and personalities through type and imagery.
