Sifting back through my photos from Milan Furniture Fair I have realised that I must have got distracted as I have so many more images I wanted to post from there. Here are some from the Hotel_RCA exhibition featuring graduates work - I loved the industrial feel of the building against the products.....a disused factory of concrete greys, stone and pipes, paint splatters and drain covers, coloured rubber and raw wood.
I saw this woman printing chocolate on tiles during Milan Design Week back in April. It's still one of those things I keep remembering, so thought I'd share the photos (thought I already had, but perhaps not?!). The entire thing was very theatrical in that she never said a word - just printed chocolate onto tiles, offered them to passers-by, smiled, and mimed at them to lick it off.
The beautiful table settings at the Vintage Brides' wedding reception - embroidered tablecloths and cushions, vintage plates and floral patterns. I had a lovely surprise when I went to my seat to find the cushion (image 6) made from one of the embroidered place mats I sourced for her wedding in Paris (see post here) - a very unique and personal touch.
Highlights from one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever been to.....a vintage-inspired 50s theme for The Vintage Bride and her new hubby.
*Handmade fascinator and oversized hand-painted silk flowers *vintage prints for the bridesmaids *flower garlands at the church door *lavender strewn across the church floor *rose petal confetti *vintage cars embellished with silk ribbon *champagne and rose petals *china cups for earl grey tea *flower-layered cake *mini scones *homemade jam and chutney to take away
Ruth brought some sweets back from her trip to New York......nice colours, random flavours! They look good on the desk in a vintage cake stand - maybe inspiration for spring/summer 12 colour palette?!
Another group of photos from Boulevard Leopold in Antwerp....my last post on this B&B but I could keep adding more and more stories from this amazing place. A collection of curiosities brought back from travels and sourced from flea markets.
I want one of these! Liberty fabric-covered suitcases seen at Merci during my last visit to Paris. Also some gorgeous brightly coloured espadrilles hanging in a chaotic rainbow on a metal peg frame.
