A Textile Field for tiny feet

A fabric installation in an art gallery that babies can crawl all over = a winning combination!
We visited the V&A today, hoping to see The Power of Making exhibition (the second time I have attempted to see it but still too busy to try and squeeze a pushchair round......please can we have a buggy parking space??!!) but instead came across Textile Field, part of the London Design Festival.
Designed by Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec in collaboration with Danish textile manufacturer Kvadrat, Textile Field is an 'expansive coloured foam and textile lounge' covering 240 square metres of the gallery floor.

All about the books

Suddenly all the other toys don't matter anymore. Its all about the books. Sometimes we read the same ones 10 (probably 15) times a day, over and over, opening the flaps, feeling the textures, counting the animals. Sometimes she just sits alone, pulling them off the shelf, turning the pages and babbling in her own little language.

Fields of heather

Off-road terrain for the iCandy on a beautiful Sunday walk on Highgate Common in the West Midlands, during a trip to see the grandparents. (A bit hazy, a bit drizzly but very peaceful and lots of nature!)

9 months vac-packed

Who knew vacuum-packed clothes could be so inspiring?! I love the squished and shiny textures and mismatched patterns....although there's a lot more pink than I thought we had (I just hope any sibling that might come along is partial to a bit of pink!). I finally decided to try and pack away all the mountains of outgrown clothes that were hanging around the drawers, under the changing table, folded up and pushed to the back of the wardrobe. It was so sweet to see all the newborn and 0-3 month babygros, the tiny socks and scratch mitts, the silly Christmas outfits we put her in when she was 5 weeks old!

Sparrowhawk lunch

Finally my laptop is back up and running....hooray! Just need to try and find time to post now my baby has found out she can crawl (fast) and pull herself up onto everything.

So that called for a celebratory sunday lunch at recently opened The Sparrowhawk pub in Crystal Palace. Nice decor, good food (but way more expensive than a pub lunch should be) and unfortunately no baby changing facilities....even though half of CP mums and babies seemed to be dining there today!
