Fairy tales made modern

I love these posters by Christian Jackson as seen on Flavorwire (sent through by a good friend). On his website, Jackson describes them as "Hyper-minimalist poster designs of the classic children's stories we've grown to know and love".

L is for ladybug

Some friends bought Lily these beautiful animal flash cards at the weekend. Illustrated by Lisa DeJohn and published by Chronicle Books, they have a quirky, folkloric style, textured patterns and thick card to stop little hands from bending them!

Whimsical watercolours

I am in love with the beautiful hand painted illustrations by Finnish artist Anna Emilia. Exquisite detail and colour washes building up intricate, atmospheric patterns and ditsy floral allovers. Poetic writing and dreamy photographs are revealed in her blog, which she describes as "a weather diary of colours, wind speed and sounds under feet in my illustrated life" (all images from her website).
