Garden fonts

Some more pics from Alexandra Nurseries - focusing on interesting fonts and typefaces I saw. Painted, drawn, chalk-written, block-printed, etched and scribbled on wood, card, slate, blackboard, metal and paper. Not forgetting the playing-card toilet sign!

See my first post here.

MM x Indikidual messy fun!

Lots of messy fun today at the Mothers Meeting lil one workshop held at kids clothing brand Indikidual's pop-up shop in Willesden Green. Founder Syreeta and her gorgeous girl Minnie played host to a couple of hours of painting....with hands, fingers, stamps, brushes.....on paper, faces, clothes, tables and buggies!

We love Indikidual's cool unisex clothes and quirky prints (more on this in another post) and the studio space was so inspiring - washi tape, primary pop-colour kids chairs, pompoms, stickers, wooden spoon faces, cardboard monsters peeping out of corners and cute customised stationery. We love Indikidual!

Noddy teacups

We took a little nostalgic trip to the funfair at Stourport-on-Severn while visiting family in the Midlands and came across this Noddy teacup ride - fantastic graphics, colours and quirky little sayings. I particularly love that "Noddy is sweeping"!!

Scribbling

A little artist in the making....chalk, crayons, water-based felt tips and 'magic' colouring books using just water (not quite as magical as I remember!).

The land of lost toys

I came across this beautiful collection of photographs by Davina Zagury through the Babyccinokids blog yesterday, and fell in love with the atmospheric imagery, muted colours of pastel tints and interesting compositions; the photos have a vintagey yet also very modern feel.
Called 'The Land of Lost Toys', Zagury explores the memories and stories that toys can possess, and each image has a description of the year and place the toy was found.

"I decided to look for other lost toys. Toys that have an interesting history, hold wonderful stories, and lived in far away places. I was attracted to toys that I sensed had memories worth being cherished, and I wanted to give something back to them". - Davina Zagury.

Footprint pottery

We visited the new pottery cafe on Northcote Road, Battersea just before Christmas to make some unique presents for family. Lily painted with her feet to create a gorgeous little mug for her Auntie (complete with red London bus stamp on the inside!) and we turned her footprints into butterflies on plates for the grandparents.
