An unexpected letter from a friend in a bird-printed envelope, with a set of monogrammed index cards from my favourite stationery website Present&Correct. It's so lovely to receive a gift in the post, especially when you've been cooped up inside for weeks! It also inspired me to dig out lots of other notebooks/labels/stamps/postcards/packaging that I've been collecting over the years so look out for a couple of stationery-themed posts coming soon...
....along with some homemade mince pies and jam tarts in preparation for Christmas (to look the part of both a domestic goddess and new Mum...if he/she ever decides to come out!). I picked up these Penguin English Classics from a second-hand bookshop on Church Street, Stoke Newington, at the weekend....partly for the stories but mainly for the beautiful stylised covers designed by Nathan Burton. I love the flat stencilled quality of the images and the simple colour palettes. Now I just need to find a free wall to hang them on!
